Sacred Space for your Dreams:

PART 2: CARVING OUT WHEN + WHERE

  Listen On Any Platform

Do you wish that you had time and space for YOU?

Whether it’s prayer, meditation, or meal prep, bringing the concept of sacred space into your home will create order and expanse where you currently feel restricted.

In this episode, I help you find when and where to create those sacred spaces for YOURSELF.

It is the “season of decorating”, even if you aren’t a designer!

Finding space to celebrate and honor ourselves, our families, our traditions can feel like a luxury.

A luxury of both time and space.

In our go-go-go world, we can lose sight of sacred moments and the power that they can have.
When we stop to pay attention, we can find something sacred all around.

Historically, sacred ceremonies were performed outdoors.

Houses weren’t much more than a safe space to sleep.

As houses got bigger, we lost our divine connection to the energy of the Earth and the healing power of her energy.

Trees create a sacred space on their own. They cleanse the air.  Their cycles align with the seasons.  They help us reconnect to our natural selves.

We can learn from them when we shift to think about creating time and space within our homes to honor ourselves, our families, our spirituality, and our traditions.

When I began studying Shamanism, I saw that the possible criticism and judgment from others was holding me back from embracing the way of living that I desired.

Instead of standing up for myself and my needs, I sought out hidden spaces and moments to do what I really wanted to do.

I let myself believe that my home wasn’t big enough to do the things I wanted to do as a way of not having to defend myself and my choices.

The harmony that I longed for was elusive because I wasn’t living in a way that aligned with what I wanted.

You have to start by identifying what you REALLY want.  And then recognizing that you are worth it.

You deserve it!

The “enoughness” that we need to live aligned with our dreams begins by respecting ourselves.

I know now that I will never have the meditation room of my dreams until I honor the practice of meditation.

The gorgeous bathroom that we created in our new house was born out of the practice of dropping a couple drops of essential oils on the floor of the shower or into the ugly faded tub of my last house.

Bath Image for Creating Sacred Spaces part 2 with Lynne Niehaus
When my children were small with busy and chaotic schedules, I found my own sacred space within my linen closet!

That became the lush bed of lavender that blooms outside my front door.

The intention creates the magic that makes a space sacred.

When you cook someone's favorite meal on their birthday or set the table for Thanksgiving, the table becomes a sacred space.

Sacred doesn't have to be expensive.

Unscented epsom salts can cost less than a latte.

But a coffee shop can be sacred, if you take the time to breathe in the aroma and thank yourself for taking time out.

Scheduling the time and committing to the act sets everything on a different course.

Most people I work with have the opportunity for creating sacred spaces right under their noses.

Any place in your home that you’re not using regularly in a way that aligns with the way that you want to live, is wasted space.

It's no different than buying groceries that you don’t end up using and tossing them in the trash but on a bigger, more expensive scale.

As Dr. Wayne Dyer so lovingly said:” We aren’t human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”  The more time and space we commit to creating sacred experiences in our lives, the more harmony we will find.

Celestial Insights: Exploring the Mysteries of the Moon

Waning Gibbous Phase

"What does this mean for me?"

During the Waning Gibbous phase, as the Moon's light diminishes before the New Moon, it's a time to express gratitude, enjoy the rewards of your efforts, and appreciate life's blessings while also marking the culmination of projects and the opportunity to declutter your mind. This phase represents a gradual reduction in vital and psychic energy, making it suitable for implementing plans, witnessing the results of previous efforts, releasing old habits, exploring new horizons, fostering relationships, and nurturing self-development and creativity in both personal and professional realms.

Waning Gibbous

"What else is happening?"

Get ready for a week that'll put your adaptability to the test. Mercury, the celestial messenger, takes center stage this week, bringing a consistent flow of information. With Mercury's increased activity, we'll need to be flexible as we navigate various aspects of our lives. Although the week may begin with some challenging news or a negative mindset, we'll gradually sharpen our mental agility by midweek. Yesterday, Mercury transitioned from Virgo to Libra, offering opportunities in the weeks ahead for negotiation, harmonious conversations, and improved connections, both in business and relationships.
