I have been intrigued by the concept of Chakras since I first heard of them 20+ years ago when I began practicing some DIY Kundalini yoga postures.

I think the fact that they each had a relationship with their own color is what intrigued me the most.

In the beginning, I thought of them as imaginary energy pockets because nothing I had ever been taught in my years of scientific training matched this concept.  I know that the body works in ways that we have yet to fully comprehend.  And focusing on the different Chakras in my practice through the guidance that I was provided felt good, even if I didn’t fully understand the principles behind them.

For many years, I left it as that.

Working with and understanding color is a natural part of both who I am and what I do.  It wasn’t until recently that I realized that I was also tapping into my intuitive nudges when working with clients and color.  Thanks to some extraordinary coaches and soul-sister companions that I have met in the last 2 years, I have been able to see the work that I do in a different way.

In reading Alberto Villalldo’s book, THE WISDOM WHEEL, I found the connections I have been seeking between my years of scientific training, my passion for color as a force, and my desire to help others feel at home in themselves and their spaces.

“The 7 Chakra system corresponds to our physiology and coincides with the 7 major endocrine glands + nerve plexus in the body.”

-Alberto Villoldo

It is fascinating to me that the concept of these energy centers has existed throughout human history in diverse cultures that had no contact with each other.  Leave it to a stubborn, Medical Anthropologist to weave the connections into something we Westerners can comprehend!

As I was reading this book for the second time to fully absorb the information 32,000 feet in the air, surrounded by the rainbow imagery of Pride Month, everything aligned.  I experienced a deeper understanding of something that had felt somewhere between imaginary and elusive.

In this episode, I describe each of the Chakras and the larger connection they have to your life beyond the health of your body.  The 7 Chakra System is comprised of:

  1. Root- whose color is RED
  2. Sacral- whose color is ORANGE
  3. Solar Plexus- whose color is YELLOW
  4. Heart-whose color is GREEN
  5. Throat- whose color is BLUE
  6. Third Eye- whose color is INDIGO
  7. Crown- whose color is LUMINOUS GOLDEN-WHITE

Tapping into this knowledge can provide insight into information that extends beyond your physical self and into everything around you.

Be sure to stay to the end where I teach you a powerful CHAKRA CLEARING exercise that you can do whenever you need to step back into HARMONY.  The exercise begins at the 39-minute mark if you want to bookmark it for later reference.
